Abstract

A computer program based on the linear wave diffraction theory, using 3-D source distribution method is set up. This program calculates the first-order wave forces, response motions, steady (mean) horizontal drift forces and vertical drift moment for a floating body in a regular wave system. The steady drift forces (moment) are evaluated by the far field approach. -- Some modified numerical schemes are proposed, in this work that save a certain amount of the computer cpu time. -- Computations were carried out for two typical floating bodies (hemisphere and rectangular box). The computed results are in good agreement with the published data.
