Memorial University Libraries are committed to collecting and safeguarding the University's unique products including article pre-prints and post prints, conference papers, lectures, colloquia, presentations, reports, and performances.

The repository will support faculty efforts to discover and communicate new knowledge, will improve the visibility of Memorial's research in the global arena, and will help our students and faculty to build impressive, lasting digital portfolios.

All material submitted to the repository will be freely discoverable online through Google and other major search engines.

The Memorial University Research Repository provides an avenue to disseminate research openly. The materials deposited may contain language used to refer to cultural groups in addition to race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality/sexual identity, as well as content that some may consider offensive. The items retain their original language to ensure that attitudes and viewpoints are not erased from the historical record. Memorial University Libraries is currently working towards updating the potentially harmful language used in the subject headings of its catalog to better represent all peoples of this province and the general public. Our goal is to provide descriptions that are accurate, appropriate, inclusive, respectful, and no longer cause harm. Memorial Library Libraries is dedicated to improving the experience of all its users and works toward Indigenization of the academy.
