Abstract

Yaffle is Memorial’s web-based connecting tool; matching Memorial’s research, outreach, and teaching activities with real-world opportunities for engaged partnership and collaboration. Yaffle’s use and integration into the consciousness of the Memorial community continues to expand. However, this year, Yaffle is getting a face-lift, a functionality update, and will greatly extend its reach beyond the walls of Memorial. Through the Yaffle360 project, funded by ACOA, Memorial, and other partners, both the College of the North Atlantic and University of New Brunswick will get their own instances of Yaffle. Additionally, Yaffle is being expanded to include the research and expertise of non-academic organizations and institutions. This session will give an overview of how Yaffle functions operationally, how it fits into the engagement and brokering activities of the Harris Centre and Memorial, and give a peek into the progress of establishing Yaffle across multiple institutions. Always happy to share the good, the bad, and the ugly, the Yaffle team holds no punches in discussing the sometimes quiet, often noisy, and always changing landscape of knowledge mobilization through the lens of a supporting tool like Yaffle.
